“An International Telemedicine Partnership of the Future”

Authors:   Dr Johnny Walker (Founder Imaging the South Pty Ltd and Global Diagnostics Ltd) and Angela Whittington (CEO Imaging the South)

Dr Johnny Walker, Founder of Imaging the South Pty Ltd www.imagingthesouth.com.au is delighted to announce the next stage of its growth journey through the formation of a strategic alliance with our sister company in the UK, Global Diagnostics Ltd www.globaldiagnostics.co.uk and its partner in Ireland, Centric Health www.centrichealth.ie.

This exciting initiative crystallises the synergies of three young, innovative and aspirational international healthcare providers.   We all share a common set of core values (our “6 Pillars”), a drive towards achieving clinical and operational excellence and a passion to develop and deliver the highest possible care to our patients on every step of their journey with us.

“Johnny, a clinically active dual qualified Radiologist and Nuclear Medicine Physician, who founded Imaging the South in 1995 from the back of a small station wagon performing mobile ultrasound services in the South West corner of Western Australia , has been in the UK building Global Diagnostics since April 2002. We are extremely proud of what he has created over there over the past 6 years,” said Angela Whittington, CEO of Imaging the South   “and are very excited at the prospect of working with the integrated teams in the UK and Ireland during the next phase of our business development.”

Global Diagnostics operates a series of 6 Global Radiology Clinics in the UK and also works with a range of public and private hospitals and community-based centres in the UK and Ireland providing radiology services.   The united Group shares a common state of the art scalable web based IT platform that positions us at the cutting edge of our industry.

Global Diagnostics has over 120 radiologists linked on their web-based “Global-Link” RIS-PACS virtual network which permits hospitals and clinics from around the world to have direct and immediate access to the highest quality diagnostic expertise irrespective of how large or small the healthcare facility may be or what time zone or region they may operate within. The “Global Virtual Diagnostic Network” (which collectively incorporates all of the Imaging the South and Global Diagnostics reporting team) operates around the clock, around the world.

Dr Nick Pang, Clinical Director of Imaging the South said, “Everybody at Imaging the South has found it a tremendously rewarding experience to work in partnership with Global Diagnostics over the past 6 years and have already seen the very real clinical, operational, relationship and mentorship benefits that have flowed from this visionary initiative and are thrilled to see this courageous dream come to fruition.”

Centric Health is headed up by two clinicians, Dr Maurice (“Moss”) Cox and Dr Ray Power, and has a very strong history and affinity with Western Australia .  Moss (Orthopaedic trained) has been working alongside Ray in Centric Health since its inception in 2003.  Ray is a practicing GP and spent almost 6 years working in WA, during which time he was also appointed Assistant Director of WACRM. Moss and Ray lead a team of just over 200 medical and support staff colleagues.

In addition to providing urgent care, health screening, occupational medical services and primary care practices in Ireland, Centric Health has a particular understanding of the requirements of the medical communities in WA through its medical recruitment division “Locumotion” (www.locumotion.com) and the personal experience of Ray.  The company provides a flow of doctors to and from the UK , Ireland and WA to support the valuable work of the rural medical communities and will be recruiting Radiologists, Radiographers and other key staff to support our current and future activities across our international markets.

“I am elated with the opportunity that this partnership creates for the strategic development of Imaging the South and Global Diagnostics. All three companies have aligned aspirations and core “Pillars” and there was a palpable chemistry from our very first meeting.   The united offering will allow us to further develop our existing markets in Australia , the UK and Ireland and to explore further global opportunities. This growth is enhanced through Locumotion, which is a tremendous asset when addressing the ever present challenges of recruiting high quality staff to support the various projects and initiatives we will be embarking upon internationally,” commented Dr Johnny Walker. “The fun and banter, which the Irish affectionately refer to as “the Craic”, has been an absolute delight to behold.  I could not have wished to partner with a more honest, open and trustworthy group of guys and the fact that the laughter drips off the walls makes every day a real joy to be a part of.  The smile on the faces of all our teams bears testimony to the shared belief in our future together.”
